Counselling FAQ

counselling therapy mindfulness

What is Counselling?

Counselling provides a confidential, safe and supportive environment in which you can talk through any issues you may be experiencing.

Why do people come for Therapy?

People access Therapy for all sorts of reasons. It can be they need to talk, to be heard and listened to, without any judgement, or for certain issues or difficulties they may be experiencing in their life, including anxiety, OCD, depression, low self-esteem, self-harm, family relationship problems, bereavement and loss, to name just a few.

Sometimes it can be to help clarify any thoughts and feelings you may have, to help you to feel in a more settled place.

How long do Counselling sessions last?

Sessions last for 50 minutes and usually take place once a week.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends entirely on yourself and the issues you bring to Counselling. Some people need just a few sessions, others are more long term.

How do I know you are the right Counsellor for me?

Choosing a Counsellor can seem like a daunting process. However I try to make it as comfortable for you as I can. I offer a free 10 minute telephone call if you would like to speak to me first, to ask any questions you may have, and from there we can mutually decide if I am the right Counsellor for you.

Where do the sessions take place?

Sessions will take place in my Counselling room (including online Counselling) which is located just off the High Street in Lymington.
